How to receive shipments via ground/LTL freight

HOW TO RECEIVE SHIPMENTS VIA GROUND/LTL FREIGHT?

DVRES Customer LTL/Freight/Ground Shipping Checklist.

Here is a list of very important information you need to know to receive via LTL/freight/ground.

– Notify us if liftgate is needed. There would be extra charges that would apply. If no liftgate is requested, 3rd party LTL drivers will only bring to edge of the truck. You will need a forklift to unload.

– A responsible person must be available to sign for the receipt of goods and inspect the delivery. Persons must be ready to receive as LTL drivers will not wait and if a redelivery is needed, additional charges will apply.

– If there are any signs of damage to items/equipment, customer should refuse shipment and clearly notate what the damages are on the bill of lading (BOL). By signing and accepting the product, you are releasing all liability and accepting the item as is. If there is any doubt, please refuse.

– If there are signs of damages or missing items and customer wants to accept/keep item(s) as is, customer must write “missing” or “damaged” and provide an explanation of what is wrong on the BOL. Photos should be taken showing packaging and any damages to the item(s).

– Once received, customers must open packages immediately and report any concealed damage within 72 hours (Three (3) days) after receiving the shipment or freight claims cannot be filed. All shipping cartons must be retained to qualify for a freight claim. An inspection appointment by carrier might be necessary for damaged freight.
